In like a Lion, out like a Lamb - there goes March

Here comes April: the month of Rebirth

So why does it seem like it takes so long for spring to come along? The birds are singing now and today, I just saw my first Sandhill Crane fly into our wetlands. Unfortunately, there is little if any open water for them.

Winter just seems to hang in there even though records say our winters are warming 10 times faster than summers. So what is about to burst forth? Bulb flowers, lilac and rhododendron bushes and lots of wildlife joyously returns to the scene. It’s going to be a riot of color and some of the sweeter scents of the season.

What a wonderful time to walk in the woods, have bonfires and clear planters for the season. Everything is new again as trees stretch out their limbs to unfold fresh green leaves toward the sun.

It’s time for Easter baskets and chocolate eggs with decorations and smiles everywhere.  Perfect pastels are the colors of the season and we can hardly wait to replant window boxes with all things green and growing.
